Short-term load forecasting (STLF) is a problem of noticeable significance for operation of power systems. Wide range of methodologies for STLF is given in the literature - univariate models as well as multivariate ones (mostly extended with weather variables). This paper is an attempt to categorize various approaches of introducing exogenous variables into models. Different classifications of this aspect are created and described in an effort to demonstrate the problem from various perspectives. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of reviewed solutions are discussed. Streszczenie. Krótkoterminowe prognozowanie obciążeń jest istotnym elementem działania systemów elektroenergetycznych. W literaturze opisane zostało szerokie spektrum metod - modele zarówno jedno- jak i wielowymiarowe (najczęściej używające zmiennych pogodowych). W pracy podjęto próbę przeglądu metod prognozowania pod kątem sposobu w jaki korzystają one ze zmiennych egzogenicznych. Przedstawiono klasyfikacje dla tych metod opisujące problem z różnych perspektyw. (Przegląd metod uwzględniania zmiennych pogodowych w modelach prognozowania krótkoterminowego). Automatic image registration for computer-aided Burn Wounds evaluation

  The ability to perform temperature measurements of human body areas is important in some types of medical diagnosis. In particular, it has been shown that precise temperature measurements carry valuable indications for the treatment of burn wounds. Such measurements may be used, for example, when the physician has to determine whether the particular area of the wound may be expected to heal by itself, without surgical intervention. One possible approach to such measurements is utilisation of thermovision measurements, in particular the solutions where matrix infrared sensors are used. Such sensors are capable of capturing the temperature of many (hundreds of thousands) points at the same time. The resulting temperature map - a thermovision image - is ideally suited to the purpose of burn wound evaluation, as the burn wound itself is very often a large object, requiring multipoint measurements. Once the thermal image is captured, a detailed analysis is required in order to extract useful information. This analysis should be carried out by the physician in the hospital environment. Precision of results, short analysis time and ease of use are important here. For this purpose a dedicated software solution has been proposed, described in [1]. This paper presents further work aiming at improving and enhancing the software. BurnDiag - a PC solution for analysis of Burn Wounds This section briefly introduces BurnDiag software.
